My mother's daughter

Some things have their own perks. I am a big girl and my mum is not small either. So I am lucky in so many ways because we do share a lot in common especially when it comes to style. The only thing I am not so lucky with is she is not a shoe person.

That too kind of rubbed off on me. I try though and I think it is because I have options now. She has big feet too and those days Bata was the only shoe shop of repute. Trust me back then shoes for people blessed in the feet department was nothing to write home about.

However she compensated this weakness with jewelry and that is where I pick my love for jewelry. My mum is a fashionista in her on sense (unfortunately for photographic evidence to prove it). She has lovely handbags and a lovely collection of jewelry. I hope I will dig up a photo of her collection.

Brown leather belt

So whenever I go to visit mum, I do not carry a thing well unless there is a specific outfit I want to wear. This is because more often than not I raid her wardrobe and I can never lack a thing. So when I invaded her wardrobe recently, I fished out this dress that she has not worn in AGES.

I remember this dress vividly when I was six years old. I don’t know why but I do remember it maybe because I had started coveting it back then. So when I picked it I hurried off to try on and guess what IT DID NOT FIT.

And I prayed for a miracle

Damn these hips.

The hips problem is real

The dress could not go down past the hips. All the same I took off with it and I it has been hanging in my wardrobe for a year.

One random Thursday morning, I decided to try it on. IT FIT IT FIT IT FIT.

I danced, a happy dance.

It was not easy but I did it.

I can now afford a hearty laugh

Look at her. Isn't she lovely :)

Meet Jazmine, Jazmine Bond

A girl has never been that excited. Because of the collar I decided to go big on the neck accessory and a belt so that it is not too plain and brown heels.

I love how it looks.

So what do I score?

Careful with the score you give.

See you soon.

Grey Skies

Writers block is real people. It is no excuse but it is real. But the grey skies are a blessing in disguise. If someone ever told me finding a blogging muse is necessary I would have told them they are lying. Well to know something you have to experience it.

Look at that smile... that is the weather right there.

Bring it on Mama Nature.

I loved it when the weather took a turn. Grey clouds spread across the sky pregnant with rain. This will not deter me. It actually painted I smile on my face because I knew exactly how I was going to deal with it.

And no get out of my photo.
I like this weather I mean its time the warm clothes came out to play. Sun dresses are so last season, plus we need to feed the nation some rain is definitely welcome.

Some peace ... Finally

So my warm sweater dress came in handy. This dress was a super bargain, it had never seen the light of the day, well until today.

Dress: Mutindwa market, shoes bus station, stockings, belt no idea????, neck piece and scarf from mum(I LOVE YOU), earring masai market

Yes I still got it :) My dreams are valid *evil chuckle

Fly like a bird...

Let it out girl, let it out.

The winning walk

The scarf was a lovely addition

The neckpiece from Mama's stash. The belt is one of those things you forgot they exist

Earrings from yours truly Jack Masai market

See you soon.

The Black Maxi Skirt

I love the maxi skirt mostly because I can get away with anything while donning it.
I can get away with not oiling my legs or bad shoes (oops did I just say that).
And when I say “bad” shoes I don’t necessarily mean bad shoes.

I have had this skirt for so long I just love the way it is versatile. A few kilos before, this skirt was a midi skirt ...
BEFORE

but now it’s a maxi ...
AFTER

I played safe kept it black and simple.

I however cannot just say no to colour hence I accessorized with red.

I will not confess to red being my fav colour, trust me the rainbow will not be happy with me but today its all about black and red.
I threw in a couple of jewellery in red too.

Keep smiling, keep shining.

Something unfamiliar

Typical Friday is not really my kind of thing.

Well at least not any more.

I am trying to deliberately move away from the Friday jeans and top or tee mentality. I have nothing against jeans they are lifesavers but sometimes you got to step out of your comfort zone. Do something different. Something unfamiliar.

Everyday is a day for me to do something different, try something new. So here goes.

Blazer: Toi market, Skirt: Custom made by Lexie designs Grace 0722 933 346, Necklace: Mom, Earrings: Masai market Jack 0722 434 106, Shoes: Exhibition in Nakuru, Top: Toi market, Belt: Bus Station.

I attended the Miss Plus Fashion Show at the Sarova Panafric organized by Suzie Beauty and Diabetics Society of Kenya. I did have a good time albeit the event not being all that. I met people who I would never have met had I not gone. Unfortunately I have no pictures to show for it, well except for this. I will try do a post with the same outfit sometime soon.

Blame it on my gadgets and on that note I do need to invest in good gadgets now that I need to be doing things on the go. I need to go techie.

See you soon.
